HELPING?
Dace wanted to know if he could help me trim the plants. I was busy and said, "Sure Honey," without asking which one or where the plant was that he was going to trim. Well...... next time I will be more specific, and find out all of the information first.

How funny!!! I also laughed way hard. Did the plant live? He is such a good help. I love it!
Poor little plant is naked! It's probably in shock! Boys! You just have to be so specific. You have to run through all the possible scenarios in your mind and then tell them specifically what to do:
"Yes, you may help trim the bush outside. You may pick three branches to trim, NO more! Do not touch anything else with the scissors. Call me when you have the 3 branches trimmed so that I can see what a good job you did (and also so I can quickly snatch the scissors away before you mangle anything else)."
"Yes, you may have a snack (now most people would think this is sufficient, nope!). You may choose ONE* snack (this is important, see below) What did you have in mind? Okay, you may have a baggie with 1 small handful of pretzels, no more. That is all until dinner."
*Without this clarification, my children will eat snacks until the cows come home. Then when they get in trouble for gorging themselves, they say "Well, you said we could have a snack".
No the plant did not survive the TRIM!!! It was in shock the next morning and all wilted over.
Ha ha that's so funny. Boys are so much fun:)
